"I am a communicator and gatherer. I was washing dishes the first time God gave me words that had to be written down and shared. The material kept coming.
It seemed almost every time I opened the Bible, I would see things like "Write the Vision," "According to their writing," "Gather," "Written in the book," and on and on." God was speaking through his word.
The only problem with being called to write was that I needed to learn how to write a book. I was terrible in the beginning. The better my writing becomes, the more I see the need for improvement. Thankfully, God is perfect, so I do not have to be.
I realized that I was called to write in 2005. God doesn't require perfection, but the Bible does say to study and show yourself approved. Since recognizing my calling, I obtained a bachelor's degree in religious studies and a master's in ministry. Not to mention reading God's word and having amazing mentors.
I learned more about Jesus from my mentors than I did at school. My education also helped me to better understand those who do not share a Christian Worldview. Education taught me to look at things differently. Before college, I viewed the world from a narrow lens.
It is a beautiful and wonderfully frustrating journey. Lately, I have been perturbed at my lack of ability to grasp the concept of building a platform to share the words God gave me. My profession is in the sales field. Selling something like a tangible book should be easy. It is not easy for many reasons. I was ready to give up. Why write books if nobody will see them? Is God in this if I'm not selling the books I write? Did I understand the assignment? All of those thoughts were in my head.
A dear soul who happens to be a professional in the book industry said,
{You have it wrong. Stop worrying about the products. It is not about that. It is about building up a congregation. It is about sharing what you have to offer with the world. You are not selling. You are sharing. The products are simply a way for like-minded people to connect.}
That resonated with me. As a communicator, my job is to write, speak, teach, and communicate in whatever way makes sense. As a gatherer, my job is to connect people. My job is to share the good news of the gospel of Christ." Teresa Lynn
Teresa has written numerous books that include:
Additionally, Teresa has co-authored books and helped others to launch books.
Teresa is currently working on several projects. One of which is a children's book. The common denominator with the books is that they all spread a gospel message.
Teresa was challenged with two questions that drive her efforts, "What would you do if you knew you wouldn't fail" and "What could you do as a ministry that would enable you to make a difference?"
Part of Teresa's answer to those questions based on her calling is building a ministry online, testing a food truck in Knoxville, Tennessee, that doesn't charge customers, and plans to follow God as best she can wherever He leads. The vision is significant, and God always does exceedingly, abundantly above.
"People are starving for spiritual food. They want to experience love and kindness. We all need to be seen and valued. Everyone needs to know that they are important and worthy of true connection. We need peace, the kind that only comes from Jesus. It is the job of Christians to help share that light to all." Teresa Lynn
