Hey y’all, I’m Kristi Cooper!
Born and raised in East Tennessee, I lived on the same street until I was 39 years old. That place held my roots, my family, and some of my dearest friends. I’ll get back to that in a minute. My life has been filled with blessings—family, faith, and friendships that have shaped who I am. I grew up in a small country church ... where, on a Thursday night at Bible school, when I was 11 years old, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. That night, more than ten others followed, flooding the altar behind me.
I married my high school sweetheart, and before we had children, we shared many adventures. Then came our son—the first grandchild on both sides—one of the greatest gifts of my life. For my career, I worked in a salon, specializing in natural manicures and pedicures. The connections I built with customers and coworkers became some of my greatest blessings. My husband and I even owned a salon for four years—one of those adventures I mentioned! When we felt led to homeschool, it turned out to be a perfect fit for our family. A few years later, after experiencing a couple of heartbreaking miscarriages, we were blessed with our precious daughter—an entirely different kind of gift that made our family complete. Life was full, balancing salon work, homeschooling, and cherishing the little moments. Then came a big shift. The housing market was booming, and we made the decision to move closer to my husband’s job. Remember how I said I lived on the same street for 39 years? This was huge for me. I prayed hard for good neighbors and a welcoming community, and the Lord answered in ways I never could have imagined. We found a church where we are loved so well, and I have the joy of teaching Children's Church again—days filled with giggles and sweet relationships. Our family, our faith, and our community grow stronger than ever.
Now, remember those childhood friends I mentioned? One of them is my dear friend Teresa. We spent our younger years singing, dancing, and even designing outfits for a middle school dance (which was quite the fashion statement, I’m sure!). Over the years, life took us in different directions, but our bond remained. We’ve collaborated on several projects, including Becoming A Lydia. Like most people, we’ve faced hardships, loss, and seasons of wandering - but we always found our way back onto the path of ministry.
Now, I’m honored to be collaborating with her again—this time as a scribe and connection maker. Together, we are committed to sharing words of encouragement, faith, and hope - praying that our stories inspire YOU on your journey. You belong here.
